DYNASTIES Pre-Alpha

World Bosses

EvilLord abroad with its escort of DevilKings, mid-telegraph: "EvilLord rears back — the ground cracks beneath you. MOVE!"

A world boss spawns every 30 minutes, is announced server-wide, and stays until something kills
it. There is no sign-up: go to the announced place and fight.

It is picked for the people who are online

The server takes the median level of everyone currently in the world and wakes the boss nearest
that level. A server full of new characters gets the GhostKing in the meadows; a server of veterans
gets the EvilLord. Nobody is locked out of the week's boss by being the wrong level — the boss comes
to the room.

Each one keeps its own ground, so the announcement tells you both who woke and where.

22 GhostKing the eastern meadows of the Central Plain

The King in the field is not the World Boss

This one catches everybody. Several of those names also wander the world as ordinary spawns — the
Kings on their own generators, out in the zones, all day long. They are not the event. Only the
boss the server announced pays boss loot; the field King beside it drops what any monster of its
level drops.

If you want the shower, kill the one the announcement named.

What it pays

  • Boss-tier drops. The announced boss rolls the elite-and-boss loot rules — the tier ordinary
monsters never reach. See hunting for what that ladder holds.
  • Everyone who fought gets paid. Turning up matters more than landing the last hit.
  • The first felling of a boss is world news — the whole server hears who did it.

Saturday night is the big one

On Saturday from 20:00 server time the week's flagship boss stirs, once, on
top of the ordinary half-hourly rotation. It is the week's best rally: the most people online, the
most eyes on it, the loot spread across the largest crowd.

Turning up

  • Watch the herald countdown and the EVENTS feed on the client dock —
the row carries a live timer and a Join button that teleports you in.
  • Bring bag space and a way to heal. A boss picked for the room is a fight for the room, not for one
    hero.
  • Bosses are also the reliable source of the consumables that make the next hour better —
    EXP Potions and Loot Charms.
