Rules & Conduct
DYNASTIES is a small, competitive, seasonal realm — the whole point of a season is that everyone races on a
level field, and the vibe is the game. A few simple rules keep both true. They're short, they're enforced,
and a GM has proportional tools (a quiet word, a timed mute, a ban) rather than only the nuclear option. Most
issues end at a warning.
The rules (short version)
- No harassment or hate. Slurs, targeted abuse, threats, and bigotry aren't tolerated on any channel.
You do not have to wait for a GM to get peace:/ignoresilences a whole account
for you, trade and team requests included. - No spam or scams. Don't flood chat, don't run scams or "double your gold" cons, don't impersonate a GM,
don't advertise other servers. Use the trade window — it's there to keep swaps honest. - No cheating. Speedhacks, packet or memory editors, dupes and anything that alters the client beyond our
own injected mod are a fast track off the server. - No botting or automation. Macros, auto-hunters and unattended farming aren't allowed — play your
character yourself. - Report bugs, don't farm them. If you find a bug that gives an unfair advantage, report it instead of
abusing it. Reporters get thanked; abusers get rolled back. - One person, fair accounts. Don't farm daily or onboarding rewards with throwaway alts, and don't share
or sell accounts. Those rewards are meant for real players, not account-spinning. - Keep names clean. Offensive or impersonating character/guild names get force-renamed.
- Play fair in events. Griefing pop-up events, arena duels, or the hunt spoils it for everyone. PK and
rivalry are the game; griefing, doxxing and real-life threats are not.
Cheating mostly doesn't work in the first place
None of the above rests on trust. DYNASTIES is a server-authoritative world: the server — not your game
client — is the referee, and every move and attack you make is checked against the server's own view of the
world.
- The impossible action is simply rejected. Speedhacks, teleport / position hacks and reach hacks are
validated away server-side. - Sustained hard violations jail you automatically (see the table below). Normal play never trips it, even
on a laggy connection. - Bots are watched. Inhuman patterns (metronomic timing, no idle, 24/7 uptime) are flagged for a GM to
review. Behaviour is always human-confirmed before any action — nobody is punished for a heuristic alone. - The economy is audited, so duping doesn't pay. Every coin and every item moves through an audited
ledger (see The Economy & Currencies and Gear & Upgrading). The same
conservation check that catches minted gold catches an item that appears from nowhere or gets transferred
twice — the duped goods vanish and the account answers for it. There's no clever trade trick around it, so
don't waste a season trying.
How to report someone — /report
See something out of line? Don't rage-quit — report it:
/report <player> <what happened>
Example: /report Spammer99 spamming slurs in World chat
- It goes straight to the GM queue with a snapshot of the recent chat, so a GM can see the context.
- Reports never punish automatically. A pile of reports only raises the case for a human to look at —
it can't ban anyone by itself, so it can't be weaponised against someone you just don't like. - There's a short cooldown between reports (to stop spam-reporting); report honestly — false reports waste
everyone's time. - You can always report or whisper a GM even while muted.
The automated tooling catches a lot, but player reports fill the gaps — and you can also raise it in
Discord.
What the actions mean
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Warning | A heads-up from a GM. No penalty — just "please stop." Usually that's the end of it. |
| Jail | The one automatic action: sustained hard cheating (speedhacking and friends) sends you to jail on the spot. It is reversible and reviewed by a GM. |
| Mute | You can't post in public channels (World / Talk / Trade / Team / Guild) for a set time. You can still whisper a GM to appeal. It lifts itself when the timer runs out. |
| Rollback | Ill-gotten gains — duped items, exploited gold — are removed. The rest of your character is untouched. |
| Kick | You're disconnected. Just log back in — it's a "reset," not a ban. |
| Timed ban | Your account can't log in for a set time, then it's automatically restored. |
| Permanent ban | The account is banned indefinitely (for serious or repeat offenses). Also what repeated failed verification prompts lead to — see below; it is appealable and a GM can lift it. |
Everything is scaled to what happened, and timed penalties expire on their own — no need to ask a GM to
lift them. We'd much rather hand out fewer punishments and more help, so when in doubt, ask first. If you
think a penalty was a mistake, whisper a GM and explain; we'd rather forgive than lose a good player.
Verification prompts (the bot check)
Now and then the server may open a small Verification window: an image with a five-digit code, and a
box to type it into. It exists for one reason — to tell a person from an unattended program — and a human
reading their own screen passes it in a couple of seconds. Type the number and carry on.
Two things worth knowing, because we would rather tell you than surprise you:
- Don't log off while one is open. Disconnecting with a prompt on screen counts the same as failing it.
That is the whole reason the rule exists: closing the client was the easy way for a bot to duck the check,
so it stopped being free. - Repeated failures add up. Each failure — running out of time, getting it wrong too many times, or
logging off mid-prompt — records a strike on your account. The window always shows exactly where you
stand ("Strike 1 of 3"), and you'll get a message in chat too. Reach the limit and the account is banned.
None of that is meant to be a trap:
- Passing a check clears your strikes. Prove you're there, and the slate is wiped.
- Strikes fade. Go a month without one and the count resets on its own.
- A ban here is appealable and reversible — see Appeals below. Open a ticket in
#support on Discord and a GM can look and lift it; the full history is logged, so
there is something concrete to look at.
If a prompt ever shows you an image you genuinely cannot read, that's our bug, not your fault — tell us
and we'll fix it.
Fair play & your privacy
To keep the realm fair, our client sends the server an anonymous device id — a one-way hash of a few
stable machine values (it is not reversible and we never see your actual hardware serials or name). It only
answers "is this the same machine as before?", which lets us catch ban-evasion (a banned player sneaking
back on a new account) and multi-account abuse — without punishing anyone automatically. It's the same kind
of check every online game runs; we hash it and disclose it because that's the honest way to do it.
Appeals
Muted or banned and think it's wrong? Whisper a GM in-game (whisper stays open even when muted), or reach us
on Discord. Every GM action is logged with its reason, so an appeal is a quick look — not a black box.
Short version: play your own character, don't cheat the economy, be cool to people. Do that and you'll never
think about this page again.
