DYNASTIES Pre-Alpha

A World With a Time of Day

DYNASTIES isn't frozen at high noon. The sky cycles — clear days give way to a petal-strewn dawn,
a leaf-blown dusk, a rolling storm, and a quiet night, then back around. It's the weather you
already see, now with a rhythm you can plan around.

The phases

The world moves through five phases on a slow loop:

  • Day — clear skies.
  • Dawn — cherry-blossom petals on the wind.
  • Dusk — autumn leaves.
  • Storm — rain and wind.
  • Night — snowfall and quiet.

Everyone online sees the same phase at the same time — the weather is global, so "it's storming"
means it's storming for the whole server.

Why the dark hours matter

Some seasons make the Storm and Night phases the best time to be out hunting: while the dark
holds, drops come richer — a modest, server-wide bonus that lands the moment the storm rolls in and
lifts when the sun returns. It's spookier out there, and it's luckier. A herald crosses the screen when
the night settles in so you know the window's open.

The bonus is bounded and shared — it's the same kind of limited, announced boost as a Lucky Hour,
never a runaway multiplier, and it only ever sweetens drops (never experience). Like every world
boost, it can't compound the economy.

The fine print

  • Whether the night bonus is active — and how big it is — is a per-season setting. Some seasons run
a lively night; others keep the weather purely for the view. Watch for the herald.
  • The weather phase itself is always cosmetic to your character — no phase ever debuffs you, slows you,
or changes where you can go. The world gets moodier, not harder.

This is the first step of a living world. More of the world learning to react to players — a
corruption you push back map by map, a boss that roams and escalates if it's ignored — is on the way.
