DYNASTIES Pre-Alpha

The Reward Card

Some prizes in DYNASTIES are drawn from a pool rather than fixed. When one of those lands while you
are standing in the Market, the screen dims and a card shows you the whole pool, the odds of each
prize, and the one you got.

The one rule that matters

Your prize is in your bag before the card appears. The server rolls the pool, hands you the
result, and only then sends the card. The card is a receipt, not a lottery ticket:

  • CLAIM grants nothing. It just closes the card. There is no message a card can send back to the
server, so nothing you do on it can change what you won.
  • Closing it early loses nothing. Esc dismisses it, and it takes itself away after a short hold
if you do nothing at all.
  • Some prizes never touch your bag. Lee's Tortoise gamble pays into your gem vault; the card's
bottom line tells you where to look ("banked in your vault" instead of "in your bag").
  • A full bag doesn't cost you the prize. Anything that can't fit is held for you by
Millionaire Lee, who stands in the same Market.

If the card and your bag ever disagree, the bag is right — and that would be a bug worth reporting.

What the card shows

Every cell on the card is a real entry in the pool the server rolled from, and the chance printed
under it is worked out from the same weights the server used. Nothing on the card is typed in by
hand, and nothing is arranged to look like a near miss: the strip that scrolls past is a random draw
from the same pool, with your actual prize placed at the stopping point.

Under the prize pool is an odds bar: one strip split into a slice for every entry, each slice as
wide as that entry's chance. It is the same numbers printed under the cells, drawn to scale, so you
can see at a glance how much of the pool your prize was — and a rare slice really is a sliver. When
the card settles, the winning slice lights up and the rest step back, with a marker underneath it.

The card takes the same time to settle every time, whatever you won. Speed, travel and tick count
never hint at the result.

When something rare lands

The card celebrates in proportion to the odds it just showed you — never to how much the prize is
worth, so it can never make an ordinary pull look special.

  • An uncommon prize (a slice of one fifth of the pool or less) gets a ring of light around the
winning cell and a scatter of sparks.
  • A genuinely rare one — the smallest slice on the card, and rare in its own right — does that
more brightly, and the world outside sees it too: light bursts around you where you are
standing, a firework goes off, and the realm gets a line saying what you pulled.

If you skip a card, it stays quiet — skipping is you saying you have seen enough.

Where it can appear

Only in the Market (map 1036). Anywhere else, a pooled prize still arrives — you just get the
system message naming it instead of the card. That is deliberate: the card dims and locks the screen
while it is up, and the Market is the one place that is never a fight.

Which prizes use it today

Source Where Notes
PrizeNPC's daily prize Market Once a day per account. Pool and odds on Daily Rewards.
Millionaire Lee's Tortoise gamble Market Seven refined gems + 100k silver for a Tortoise. The prize is banked in your vault, never your bag, and the card says so. Odds on The Bank.
Kylin Squama The wilds Drawn from a pool too, but squama appear out in the field, so you get the message naming your prize, not the card. See Events.
