The DYNASTIES Client

The dock. Left to right: the Effects gutter, the buff tray with live timers, then Tasks, Events (badged when something is on), Awards and Hero.
DYNASTIES runs the classic 4330 client with a custom mod layered on top, loaded into memory at
launch. Conquer.exe itself is never patched — we publish its SHA-256 so you can check that the
game you were sent is the untouched 2006 original. (The mod does keep a few files of its own beside
it: a log, your saved HUD layout, and the server address.) That mod adds quality-of-life and
interface you won't find on a vanilla client.
What's different
- A wider world — the camera shows much more of the map at once, and the game runs in a
resizable window (any size, any aspect — no forced fullscreen). Type/scale <number>in chat
to zoom in or out live. - A real buff bar — active buffs and debuffs appear as icons with live countdown timers and
stack counts, bottom-right, including the timed states your own spells put on you (Stigma,
Magic Shield, Superman, Cyclone and the rest), each with its spell's own icon. Click EFFECTS to
see what they add up to. See Buffs, Tonics & Charms. - Quick-access dock — a TASKS · EVENTS · AWARDS · HERO cluster in the command bar, with the
EFFECTS gutter and buff tray to its left and the VOTE crest on its right:- TASKS opens your quest log, and the daily reward claim + Adventurer's Slate
live inside it. - EVENTS opens a live event feed — what's happening now and what's coming up, each with a
countdown, plus a Join button that teleports you straight to an ongoing event. See Events. - AWARDS opens Achievements & Titles.
- HERO opens your profile — playtime, mining rank, duel rating and token balance.
- The VOTE crest (the gold medallion) opens the vote page.
- TASKS opens your quest log, and the daily reward claim + Adventurer's Slate
- Bag outline — hover your inventory to see the slot grid, and shift-click items for quick actions.
- Smoother frames — the old frame cap is lifted for a higher, configurable frame rate.
It's the same classic game — you just spend less time fighting the interface and more time playing.
Keeping it up to date
The mod and the server ship changes together, so the server checks that your client is current when you
enter the world. If it is out of date you are returned to the login screen with a message saying so.
Why: an old client can miss new effects, new interface panels, or a change to how something is
sent — which shows up as things not rendering, or as bugs that are confusing to report because they
only happen to you. Rather than let you play a broken session, the server asks you to update first.
The fix: run DynastyLauncher.exe. It checks what you have against what the server is serving,
downloads only the pieces that changed, and starts the game for you. That is the whole thing — normally
a few seconds. (The Launcher covers installing it and what to do when it complains.)
Always start the game through the launcher and you will never see the message at all: it updates you
before you connect.
If it keeps happening
- Make sure you are launching
DynastyLauncher.exe, not the game executable directly. Starting the
game straight fromConquer.exeskips the update check entirely. - Check the launcher can reach the internet — if it cannot fetch the update list it will start the game
with what you already have, which may then be refused. - If you copied your client folder from someone else, run the launcher once so it can bring the copy up
to date.
What the server actually checks
Only that your client is a current DYNASTIES client. It does not read your files or your machine to do
this — the client simply reports which version it is, the same moment it already tells the server it has
connected.
